Kill Consistency, Build A Lifestyle Review

Chasing Project Atlas

I have been ‘religiously’ following Project Atlas for the past four months. In Project Atlas, Dominic Henry(author of Kill Consistency, Build A Lifestyle) reviews ‘what he achieves’ daily. One could also say that he shares a piece of his daily life with us. I was immediately hooked on the concept and checked his Instagram status daily.

About 1 week ago, Dominic announced that he would be writing an ebook. This caught my attention because I believe that more Jamaicans should create digital products. For further details on why, you can check out Why You Should Create Digital Products. The announcement of this book also came with a release date, April 30th. Dominic did indeed release the book on April 30th. I immediately downloaded the book and then read it the next day. The book is available for free, and you can download it here.

You can read the book in 15 minutes or less!

Straight To The Point

It felt like the book was finished soon after I started reading it. There is 0 fluff here. Every chapter of the book hits you like a right hook to the jaw. What you will read is Dominic’s raw thoughts on how you can ‘Kill Consistency, Build A Lifestyle’.

There were several points in the book that made me feel personally draped. I plan to spend some time this week ironing out my clothes. I’m one of those individuals who like to see results soon, but alas, that isn’t very realistic. What we need to do is 1) START and 2) try to get a little better each day. A certain quote from James Clear came to mind as I read Dominic’s book:

A Must Read For Anyone Pursuing Greatness

Atomic Habits immediately came to mind while I was reading this book. It somewhat felt like a mini Atomic Habits, but different. Kill Consistency, Build A Lifestyle felt quite raw. It has a few typos and grammatical issues, but that doesn’t take away from the message Dominic is sending. I think there were a few sections where the sentences ran on for too long.

Nonetheless, the author is a big believer in putting work out there and refining it overtime. It is my view that this book has great local and international potential. I’m hoping Dominic writes a ‘full length’ version of this ebook in the future.

Kill Consistency, Build A Lifestyle is a must read for anyone pursuing greatness. If you want to ‘see more gains at the gym’, ‘get better at a particular skill’, or just see improvement in any field or task. I highly recommend reading this book.

Mini Interview With Dominic Henry

I asked Dominic a couple of questions related to himself and the book. Below, you will see a question and answer segment that was conducted for this article.

Jason: How long did it take you to complete the book?

Dominic:

Jason: Do you believe you were simply born great and that today’s results were carved into stone long before you began?

Dominic:

Jason: Are there any plans to 1 day launch a physical book?

Dominic:

Jason: Reading this ebook felt like reading a mini ‘Atomic Habits’. Have you ever read that book?

Dominic:

Jason: If you could go back in time, is there anything you would have done differently about your fitness journey?

Dominic:

Jason: What is Project Atlas, and when did you start?

Dominic:

Note Well: Here is a link to the top video that Dominic is referring to. The video seems to have blown up due to the amount of money he spends on groceries. It seems to have ignited the ‘Jamaica is expensive’ debate. As of writing, the video has 35.2K views, which is significantly higher than his 1500 view average.

Jason: What’s your biggest lesson from Project Atlas?

Dominic:

Jason: What advice would you give to someone who is still struggling with ‘building a lifestyle’?

Dominic:

Wrap Up

I had a great time reading this book, and I look forward to its next iteration. You can keep up with Domininc by following him on Instagram. If you have any critiques or improvements regarding the book, definitely let him know. Kill Consistency, Build A Lifestyle is available for download on Gumroad.

I ultimately plan to re-read this book and see how I can integrate some of Dominic’s advice.
